I began showing my work in 2014 at the Artisan Village Gallery in Grayling. I am grateful for the customers who bought my work and helped me to improve and refine the beauty of the trees. I am also thankful for all of the artists and friends who gave me ideas for other products such as the candles, branded ornaments, suet feeders and buttons.
In 2016, I started doing art shows with my daughter, Courtney Michalik Kent, owner of "The Compass Points Here". In 2017 she encouraged me to apply for my own booth at a few shows. I was accepted for the Leland Artist's Market in July and Holly Pop in December at The Old Art Building. I was also in the holiday markets at The Little Fleet and The Warehouse Market. Most recently I was accepted by The Painted Bird Gallery in Sutton's Bay.
The 2018 season began at the Leland Artist's Market, followed by the Les Cheneaux Festival of Arts in Cedarville and the amazing UnCaged Show in Northport.
I also participated in the following holiday shows: Holly Pop in Leland and the Holiday MRKT Share in Traverse City.
In 2019, I will be at the Leland Artist's Market, July 13 (www.oldartbuilding.com) and Northport Uncaged, Sept. 28 (https://www.leelanauuncaged.com).
I hope to be accepted at Art on the Rocks- Marquette, Michigan (July 27 & 28).
